Confidential and free to call 24hrs a day 7days Contact and referral information for local agencies across the province that can assist in cases of elder abuse. Trained counsellors also provide safety planning and supportive counseling for older adults who are being abused or at-risk of abuse. Family members and service providers can also call for information about community services.

Senior Crime Stoppers
Crime Stoppers refers to a program that allows members of a community to provide anonymous information about criminal activity. An informant can provide crime solving assistance to the authorities without being directly involved in the investigation process.If you know of an Ontario senior who is being victimized by any criminal actions, consider calling SENIOR CRIME STOPPERS at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
Barrie and area Victim Crisis Assistance and Referral Service
The program provides emotional support, practical assistance, and referral and information for victims of crime or tragedy. With the consent of the victim, referral to BAVCARS is directly through police. Support is provided on-site, by trained volunteers, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, to police referral in the areas for Barrie Police Service, South Simcoe Police. Midland Police Service, and the OPP Detachments for Barrie, New Tecumseth, Collingwood, Huronia West and Midland/Penetang.
North Simcoe Muskoka Health Line
Community Connection and the North Simcoe Muskoka LHIN Home and Community Care have integrated their information and referral services to eliminate duplication of services and create the foundation for health system navigation in North Simcoe Muskoka. The two partners work together to provide consistent and collective responses to people seeking information about health services through the NSMHealthline, a specialized health information line and regional website. Specialized health information & referral services are available every day from 8:30am – 8:30p.m.
